It can happen. Sometimes you will end up at your hotel and you’ve either run out of shaving cream or you have forgotten to pack it altogether, or perhaps your can of shaving cream was confiscated at airport security.
So now it’s 6:45 am and you have to shave before your big meeting, but all the shops are still closed. Don’t worry, you won’t have to dry shave (ouch!). There are plenty of shaving cream substitutes right there in your hotel room.
Shaving cream is mainly necessary to provide some lubrication so the razor can glide across the skin, and it also helps to moisturize the skin after getting scuffed by the razor. You can actually make your own shaving cream
by mixing Dove soap and olive oil.
Bar soap, liquid soap, lotion, and hair conditioners all can provide some good lubrication and moisture for your shave, and most hotels provide these in the bathroom amenities. So rub them on your face or legs and go for it. You can even get creative and combine multiple elements! It won't be quite as good as your trusty Barbasol foam, but it will get you a decent shave.
